Iqbal Khan on show that made his career
Iqbal was asked which project he considers as a turning point in his career. To this, the actor said, "I think that my first television show is something that kind of completely made way for my career. It was an Ektaa Kapoor show called
Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai. You need a concrete path where you start walking. It was the first 100 steps, where the initial path of your career is carved because it was a success."
The actor further reflected on how television has evolved over the years. Iqbal stated that his current TV show
Hui Gumm Yaadein is different from other shows airing on the medium. "And I'd also like to add that when I started doing TV at that time, the content on TV, I think, was really kickass," he added.
Iqbal Khan on Mujhe Tu Chahiye
Continuing the conversation, Iqbal opened up about the challenges he faced during
Mujhe Tu Chahiye's shoot. The actor admitted that it was difficult to show 'helplessness' of a human being in the show. The reason was there were many emotions involved in it. He further revealed that his character in the show is more than a businessman.
"I would not really say that that's like a primary point for this character. Basically, he is somebody who is living in a space where everything is there, but there is no affection. When something is missing, one tends to look for it in different places. That is something which puts him in a zone where going back seems tough. It is sometimes impossible, and sometimes leads you to a place where coming back is almost not coming back," said Iqbal.Meanwhile, on the work front,
Iqbal has also done shows like
Kkavyanjali,
Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli,
Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do, Waaris, and more.
