Recently, makers announced the release date of Awarapan 2 and netizens couldn't keep calm. The release plans for the film have undergone a significant change, with the makers now locking a new window for the much-anticipated sequel. The Emraan Hashmi-led film, which has been generating steady buzz online, is currently in production, prompting a shift from its earlier timeline. Amid the buzz, a new report suggests that many want to acquire the distribution rights for the film.
Distributors Bid For Awarapan 2 Rights
A source told Bollywood Hungama, "You name it and that distributor was seen at the Vishesh Films office last week – be it Zee Studios, Anil Thadani’s AA Films, Pen Marudhar, Jio Studios, Star Studio18, Cinepolis, etc. That’s not all."
The insider also added that Karan Johar's
Dharma Productions, which now has its own distribution arm, has also met Mukesh Bhatt. Lastly, Ananya Birla's Birla Studios plans to not only produce but also distribute films in the future. "
Mukesh Bhatt is quite overwhelmed by the response. He met all the distributors warmly. Now, he and his team are analysing the offers and are expected to make a decision soon," they added. Once that is done, the makers will announce the name of the distributor who won the competitive bid, shared the source.
