App Store Now Supports 11 More Indian Languages, Including Bangla, Tamil, Telugu And More

Apple App Store Connect will now support 11 new languages to help apps and games reach more users worldwide, especially in India, according to the company. With this update, App Store Connect now supports a total of 50 languages.The new languages include Bangla, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu, along with Slovenian. Localising app content can also improve app visibility and downloads, especially in a diverse market like India, Apple said.According to the Cupertino-based tech giant, developers can now add app details like name, description, keywords and screenshots in these languages through App Store Connect. the app offers."You can now provide localised metadata — such as your app name, description, screenshots, and more — in App Store Connect. When you localize your metadata, it helps make your app relevant to potential users across languages and cultures, and provides an opportunity to grow your business," the company said in blog post. Apple has also introduced localised App Store badges for marketing use. The Cupertino-based tech giant is now manufacturing 25 per cent of its iPhones in India as part of its long-term plan to reduce its reliance on China, Bloomberg reported.Last year, India accounted for 55 million iPhones of the roughly 220 million to 230 million produced worldwide. It began making the entire iPhone 17 lineup in India ahead of last September’s launch and Apple CEO Tim Cook said the majority of US demand is now fulfilled by India-made iPhones.
