The veteran singer's son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed the news of her passing during a media interaction. Dr Pratit Samdani of Breach Candy Hospital (Mumbai) shared that the singer passed away due to multi-organ failure. Now, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over her demise. He also offered condolences to the singer's family.

Sharing photos from his past meetings with Asha Bhosle, PM Narendra Modi wrote on X in Hindi, "Deeply saddened by the passing of Asha Bhosle Ji, one of the most iconic and versatile voices India has ever known. Her extraordinary musical journey, spanning decades, enriched our cultural heritage and touched countless hearts across the world. Be it her soulful melodies or vibrant compositions, her voice carried timeless brilliance. I’ll always cherish the interactions I’ve had with her."
He further extended condolences to Asha Bhosle's family, her admirers and music lovers. The Indian PM added that the singer will continue to inspire generations and her songs will forever echo in people's lives.
Anand Bhosle on mother Asha Bhosle's demise
During an interaction with ANI, Anand Bhosle confirmed the development of his mother Asha Bhosle's demise. He revealed that his mother's last rites will be performed tomorrow at 4 pm at Shivaji Park crematorium. The singer's loved ones will be able to pay their respects to her at Casa Grande in Lower Parel at 11 am. Maharashtra Culture Minister Ashish Shelar also expressed sadness over Asha ji's demise. He mentioned that entire country and Maharashtra are mourning the end of an era.
When Asha Bhosle made her acting debut
Asha Bhosle spent eight decades making music for Indian cinema. During her illustrious journey, the singer made her acting debut with a film called Mai. It was directed by Mahesh Kodiyal. Also featuring Ram Kapoor and Padmini Kolhapure, the movie was about how children abandon their ailing old parents. It was released in cinemas on February 1, 2013.
