According to a report in Variety India, Golmaal 5 will be bigger, bolder, and more expansive than its predecessors but at the same time, it will be retaining the franchise’s signature silly humour. Akshay Kumar will take the franchise forward as the star steps into the role of the main villain. This will be a slight narrative turn for the series, that has largely thrived on situational comedy and ensemble banter without any bad guy till now. This installment reportedly ventures into fantasy elements, as opposed to the simple, comedy of error setups that defined earlier films. The new direction might give the loyal audience of Golmaal an even more fun film, with extra comedy and star power.

Ajay Devgn returns as the anchor of the franchise, leading the familiar chaos alongside Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, and Shreyas Talpade. The extended ensemble also features Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari, and Ashwini Kalsekar, ensuring the trademark Golmaal madness remains intact. Production of the comedy film is slated to begin by the end of February at Film City, Mumbai, with the makers eyeing a theatrical release in early 2027, as per the same Variety India reoprt. The timing is significant as the Golmaal saga, which began with Golmaal: Fun Unlimited in 2006, completes 20 years this year, making it two full decades of laughter and memes associated with the show.Golmaal 5 also marks Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn’s sixth collaboration in 32 years, following Suhaag (1994), Khakee (2004), Insan (2005), Sooryavanshi (2021), and Singham Again (2024).
