Icon Star Allu Arjun is celebrating his birthday today, April 8. On the occasion of his birthday, makers of his new film - AA22 X A6 - announced its much-anticipated title - Raaka along with Allu Arjun's first look from the film. The actor also saw a host of industry stalwarts wishing him on the occasion, including Peddi actor Ram Charan. Taking to X, formerly Twiter, Charan - addressing Allu Arjun by his nickname wrote, "Happy Birthday Bunny @alluarjun Always wishing the best for you… have a blast and an amazing year ahead!" But do you know how the two Telugu industry icons are related? The bond shared by Allu Arjun and Ram Charan goes beyond their shared status as two of Telugu cinema’s biggest stars. Undoubtedly, they are celebrated as being
contemporaries dominating the pan-India space, but the reality remains that their connection is actually deeply rooted in family ties that trace back to one of the most influential movie clans in the industry.
The centre of it is the legendary Chiranjeevi, often regarded as the cornerstone of modern Telug cinema. Ram Charan is Chiranjeevi’s son, carrying forward his father’s cinematic legacy in films that have attained global recognition. Allu Arjun, on the other hand, is Chiranjeevi’s nephew. The Pushpa actor’s father – Allu Aravind – is the brother-in-law of Chiranjeevi, making Allu Arjun and Ram Charan first cousins. Ram Charan’s mother Surekha Konidela is the daughter of the late comic actor Allu Ramalingaiah and the sister of Allu Arjun's father Allu Aravind. In fact, the Konidela–Allu family is one of the most prominent cinematic families and is often called the Mega family in the South industry. While Allu Arjun's brother Sirish too is an actor in Telugu cinema, Chiranjeevi's brothers are Nagendra Babu and actor-politicial Pawan Kalyan. Nagendra Babu's children are Varun Tej and Niharika, both of whom are actors. Chiranjeevi has two sisters, Madhavi Rao and Vijaya Durga, of which the latter has two sons, Sai Dharam Tej and Panja Vaisshnav Tej, both of whom are actors.Despite having familial connections, Allu Arjun and Ram Charan have managed to chart their own journeys and create completely different identities on screen. While Ram Charan is best known for intense, larger-than-life roles as seen in films like Magadheera and RRR, Allu Arjun has built his reputation for his stylish performances, dance prowess, and ability to connect with mass audiences, culminating in the massive success of Pushpa: The Rise and Pushpa 2: The Rule.
