If you’ve ever opened YouTube for “just one video” and somehow ended up deep into an endless loop of Shorts, you’re not alone. The good news is that the Google-owned streaming giant has now introduced a feature that helps you put a hard stop to it. And yes, you can even set it to zero minutes, which basically wipes Shorts off your feed. Keep reading to see how this feature works.Where To Find The SettingStart by opening the YouTube app on your phone. Tap on your profile icon, usually sitting in the bottom corner and then head into Settings. It’s not hidden, but it’s also not something you’d accidentally stumble upon.Once inside, look for the Time management section. This is where the popular streaming platform groups all tools meant to help you keep
your screen time in check.Turning Off Shorts CompletelyInside Time management, you’ll find an option called Shorts feed limit. Switch it on and you’ll be asked to set a daily time cap.Earlier, the minimum limit was 15 minutes, which didn’t really help much if you were trying to quit entirely. Now, you can set it to zero minutes. And that changes everything. The moment you do this, Shorts essentially disappear. The app treats it as if you’ve already used up your entire daily limit. If you are unable to set the time limit to zero, please don't worry. This feature is currently rolling out and will be available to everyone soon. What Changes After You Enable ItOnce the limit is set to zero, the Shorts tab stops showing videos altogether. Instead, you’ll see a message saying you’ve reached your limit. In many cases, Shorts also stop popping up on your home feed, which makes the app feel noticeably calmer.Interestingly, this option wasn’t originally built for everyone. It started as part of parental controls, giving families a way to manage how much time kids spend watching Shorts. Now, YouTube is rolling it out more widely, including for adult users.
