The
good news is that Heated Rivalry Season 2 will definitely be releasing in India. The hockey romance series, starring Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, will be back on Lionsgate Play. The first season of Heated Rivalry premiered on February 20, 2026. However, since the show, created by Jacob Tierney, is yet to be filmed, the wait will be a bit longer until 2027. The global sensation is based on the books by Rachel Reid. Recently, Tierney and Reid dropped a few teases about the second season. Here's what we know so far.
Heated Rivalry Season 2 on Lionsgate Play
A report in
Variety confirmed that the second season of
Heated Rivalry will come to India in 2027. Creator Tierney will also be back as writer and director on Season 2. At BookCon 2026 in New York City with author Reid, Tierney revealed that the second season will be focused on her book
The Long Game, which came out in 2022. However, he also stated that the second season will include parts of the 2021 novel
Role Model. Michael Goldbach will be joining him as co-writer for Season 2.
While Storrie and Williams will be back as Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander, respectively, there are some new characters that fans can expect. Role Model's characters Troy Barrett, a hockey player on the Ottawa Centaurs with Ilya and Harris Drover, the team's social media manager, will be introduced. The show has yet to cast the actors for the roles. Both the above novels are set 10 years after the events of
Heated Rivalry, and the material could expand into season two and maybe even season three. Now firmly in a relationship, Shane and Ilya face the realities of being together. Tierney also hinted that a big fight between the couple is also looming and shared that it was one of his favorite moments from the story.
