TV actor Arjun Bijlani’s father-in-law, Rakesh Chandra Swami, passed away on January 1, 2026, due to a heart attack. After learning about his demise, Arjun and his wife, Neha Swami, cut short their Dubai
vacation and immediately came back to Mumbai to perform the last rites of the departed soul. Neha Swami was seen heartbroken by the demise of her father. A couple of days ago, Arjun Bijlani and Nishank Swami immersed the ashes of Rakesh Chandra Swami in the holy Ganga river in Haridwar. Now, Arjun has paid a tribute to his late sasurji, whom he fondly called ‘Papa’.

Arjun Bijlani took to his Instagram handle and shared a bunch of pictures with his late father-in-law, Rakesh Chandra Swami. In the post, Arjun mentioned that he is going to miss him. He will also be missing his teachings. Arjun also promised to his late father that he will take care of his daughter, Neha Swami and his grandson, Ayaan. Arjun Bijlani captioned the post as, “Om Shanti Papa !! Aap ki batein aur seek hamesha hamare saath Rahengi ..!! Neha aur Ayaan ka poora Dhyaan rakhoonga chinta mat karna .. !! Love u always !! Sri Rakesh Chandra Swami !! 1956 - 2026 . !!”
Arjun Bijlani’s post is going viral on social media and many celebrities, such as Mouni Roy, Karan Kundrra, Reem Shaikh, Rahul Vaidya and others, have commented on the post. Rakesh Chandra Swami’s son and Neha Swami’s brother, Nishank had shared the video of him taking a dip in the holy Ganga after immersing his father’s ashes in it. Nishank captioned the post as, “I have not even accepted what has happened. it still feels like you’ll walk back in to my room any second - i keep longing for that hug and those last words which I didn’t know would be the last. i keep waiting to hear you scold me one more time, to tell me what I should’ve done better, to call my name the way only you could call my name. Doing your asthi visarjan - Watching the last parts of you go away felt like losing you all over again, I carry you in my memories, in my habits, in the silence - i love you papa, i will miss you always before you lived with me & now you live inside me forever.” (sic)
