The film was a birthday treat from Mohanlal to his fans after it was delayed from its scheduled April release.

According to the makers of Drishyam 3, the Malayalam entertainer has earned Rs 200 crore worldwide in just seven days. Sharing the details on social media, the actor wrote, “Three films. Three chapters. One unbroken bond. Thank you for walking with Georgekutty & Family.”

According to reports, the film has been made on a budget of Rs 100 crore. Mohanlal has charged Rs 20 crore for Drishyam 3. It is much higher than his normal remuneration for a film of this scale. Reportedly, when Mohanlal joined the franchise with Drishyam in 2013, he took home Rs 5 to Rs 6 crore. He increased it to Rs 10 to Rs 12 crore for the sequel. Now, it has reportedly shot up to Rs 20 crore. Meena, who plays Rani Georgekutty in the Drishyam franchise, reportedly started with a remuneration of Rs 15 to Rs 25 lakh. It is speculated that her fee has gone up to Rs 75 lakh for the third part. Esther Anil, who is seen as Anu in the franchise, reportedly charged around Rs 25 lakh for all films. Ansiba Hassan, a.k.a Anju, has apparently charged Rs 1 crore for Drishyam 3.

Drishyam 3 follows the story of Georgekutty and his family, who come under suspicion after the son of a senior police officer goes missing. The first part was released in 2013, while the second part came out in 2021. It was remade in many languages, including Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The Hindi version of the Drishyam franchise stars Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav. The first part was directed by Nishikant Kamath. Abhishek Pathak took over after his death. Drishyam 3 Hindi releases on October 2 this year.
