Officials have launched an investigation to identify the source of the leaked footage and uncover those involved in its online circulation.

The arrests were carried out by the Cyber Crime Wing after clips from the film surfaced on social media platforms and messaging apps. According to officials, the accused shared and distributed the leaked footage through various digital channels. Authorities have revealed that the arrests form part of an ongoing effort to stop the unauthorized circulation of copyrighted content online.

Investigators are currently examining electronic devices seized from the accused to check how the footage was obtained and distributed. Officials are also tracing the origin of the leak and attempting to identify individuals who may have been involved in uploading, forwarding, or otherwise circulating the material. As per India Today, Digital forensic experts have joined the investigation and are analysing online activity, communication records, and social media accounts connected to the case. Authorities believe the probe could lead to more suspects as more information emerges.

About Jana Nayagan's Theatrical Release

Jana Nayagan remains one of the most anticipated Tamil film releases in recent years and has been promoted as Vijay's farewell film before his full-time transition into politics. However, its release has been delayed due to a certification dispute with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). According to reports, the film was referred to a revising committee following objections over its alleged depiction of the armed forces and scenes that were said to potentially hurt religious sentiments.

Recently, producer Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions addressed the issue while interacting with the media during a temple visit. He revealed that Jana Nayagan is yet to receive its certification and said he was hopeful that the process would be completed soon. The producer said that the film would be released in theatres once the certification is cleared. Earlier listings on ticketing platforms had hinted at a possible June release, creating speculation that the film could arrive around Vijay's birthday on June 22. However, no official release date has been announced so far.
