After
working in Tamil and Telugu cinema, Sai Pallavi has her sights set on Bollywood. The year 2026 is a big year for her with the films Ek Din and Ramayana: Part 1 coming out. On May 1, Sai made her Hindi debut with Sunil Pandey's Ek Din with co-star Junaid Khan. Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, the Hindi film is a remake of the Thai film One Day (2016). Recently, in a conversation with her co-star, Sai revealed that she believed she was miscast in the film. Fans have commented on her Hindi diction in the film and at events promoting Ek Din and felt it was not up to the mark.
Why Sai Pallavi feels she was 'miscast' in Ek Din
In a one-on-one chat between Sai and
Junaid on YouTube, the co-stars were chatting about how they came to the film. Junaid revealed that he couldn't believe she said yes to the project. Meanwhile, Sai shared that she wanted to do only big-budget films. The actress shared that at that point in time, she had acted in several heavy films and wanted a lighter subject. When she was read the script, she felt it would be something like the
Before Sunrise trilogy.
However, when she watched herself in the film for the first time, Sai's first thought was that she didn't belong. She told producer Aamir, Junaid's father, "I don't think I was meant to do this and I think I am miscast." According to her, she felt that someone else with "a little bit of flamboyance" should have been cast. Junaid, of course, disagreed.
