Dhanush
is one of the finest actors we have in Indian cinema. Predominantly working in Tamil films, the actor has also shown his talent in Hindi and Hollywood films as well. Recently, a production house, Thenandal Films, has sent a legal notice against Dhanush and demanded Rs 20 crore as compensation for delaying work on the film he signed in 2016. Hence, the makers have demanded an amount to recover their losses due to alleged delay in its production. If the demands don’t get fulfilled on time, the production house will take further legal action against the Atrangi Re actor.
Dhanush In Legal Trouble
In the notice, the lawyer of the production house, Thenandal Films, mentioned that
Dhanush was signed for the film Naan Rudran in 2016. However, the actor told the production house that he would act in the film and directed another film instead. Despite accepting that, Dhanush didn’t provide the complete screenplay of the film. According to the OneIndia Tamil report, the complaint states that the production house has spent up to Rs 20 crore in advance. They also paid other expenses for stars like Nagarjuna Akkineni and SJ Suryah, who also acted in the film with Dhanush.
Advocate A Chidambaram stated in the notice that the film was stalled halfway because Dhanush gave call sheets to other films without completing work on his pending films. The lawyer has also mentioned in the notice that Dhanush has to make a decision about the fulfillment of the promise made to provide a call sheet by the end of 2025. If he fails to do that, a loss of Rs 20 crore should be compensated. In addition to that, Rs 1 crore should also be paid as a compensation. If the actor doesn’t do it on time, the court will take legal action against the TV actor. It has to be noted that Dhanush has not yet made any official comment on the whole controversy.
