Paramvir Cheema on Border 2
Talking to Zoom exclusively,
Paramvir opened up about being cast in
Border 2. He said, “Anurag sir had watched Tabbar, and I was honestly a little scared of being typecast, so I spoke to him about it… I told him, ‘Ismein pagdi nahi pehente hain—yeh Haryana regiment hai.’” That conversation led to a reading unlike any he had done before. He performed in a Haryanvi accent, a space he had never explored on screen. The conviction of that reading sealed the decision, and Paramvir was cast in a role that demanded an entirely new voice and rhythm. Despite the presence of a dialect coach, the accent came naturally to him, shaped by real-life interactions and instinctive observation.Apart from
Black Warrant, Paramvir has acted in SonyLIV’s
Chamak. His character is named Kaala, and he is a rapper who returns to Punjab to unravel the death of his father, Taara Singh.
