Speaking to Telly Talk India, Abhishek reiterated that his bond with fellow contestant Ashnoor is very strong. He denied that it turned romantic and stated, "I didn't feel that. I think it is friendship, and we had maintained decorum. It looked like pure friendship. We were doing mischief; we were like buddies. We didn't even think in that tangent [of romance]. We were there for each other. That was the only thought that if something happened [to her], I'll take a stand, and if something happened [to me], she'll take a stand. Hum pichhe nahin hatenge ek dussre se [We will not back down from supporting each other]. That was our take."

Referring to their nicknames on the show, Abhishek added, "We are best friends. Woh meri Piddi hai aur mein uska Goku." Others around me also understood that it's not feasible to argue with me. I kept my morals intact while fighting and they came out in the wrong light, so they gave up going against me.
