Ha-Ru, the daughter of Epik High member Tablo and actress Kang Hye-Jung, has achieved a major milestone at just 16! The teenager has been credited as the sole lyricist for RIIZE's upcoming title track Do Your Dance from the group's second mini-album II (Two). The news quickly attracted attention online, with many praising her talent while others questioned how she secured such a high-profile opportunity. However, Tablo has now clarified that his daughter earned the credit through merit rather than family connections.
Lee Ha-Ru writes lyrics for RIIZE's title track
It was confirmed on June 8 that Lee Ha-Ru is credited as the sole lyricist for
RIIZE's title track
Do Your Dance, which will be released as part of the group's second mini-album
II (Two). The achievement is a huge moment for the teenager, who is best known to the public through her appearances alongside her father on the popular reality show
The Return of Superman. Over the years, viewers watched Ha-Ru grow up on screen, and many have been surprised to see her now making a name for herself in the music industry.
Following the announcement, questions emerged online about how the young lyricist secured the opportunity to write a title track for one of K-pop's most popular fourth-generation groups. Tablo addressed the issue directly through Epik High's fan communication platform. Responding to a fan who commented that SM Entertainment is known for using blind reviews, he confirmed that this was indeed how his daughter was selected. The fan wrote, "It seems remarkable that she was the sole lyricist. I heard SM uses blind reviews." Tablo replied, "Yes, that's how she was selected." His response clarified that reviewers were unaware of the writer's identity while assessing submissions.

To Me From Me. That project gave her early experience in songwriting. Her ability to write fluently in both Korean and English has become one of her biggest strengths. She has also reportedly showed her language skills by translating films.
Being a multi-talented kid, Lee Ha-Ru is currently preparing for major academic examinations. According to reports, she has been studying for both the SAT and AP exams. Her recent life and academic preparations have also been featured on Tablo's YouTube channel, where viewers have seen her balancing studies with her creativity.Meanwhile, RIIZE is set to make its comeback with
II (Two) on June 15. The mini-album will feature
Do Your Dance as its title track alongside several new songs.
