Dude OTT Release: Keerthiswaran Called Out For Controversial Proposal Scene In Pradeep Ranganathan's Film
Among scenes which received thumbs down from film buffs was when the Pradeep's character Agan telling Mamitha Baiju's Kural "Why are you sitting in a position usually seen in a pornographic movie?" Netizens called it vulgar and offensive to women. Recently, a social media user approached the director on Instagram direct message, questioning him about the use of it, and requested him avoid drafting scenes of such nature in his future films. However, Keerthiswaran's alleged response wasn't a favourable one. In a now viral screenshot doing the rounds online, Keerthiswaran said "go and get a life" to the user which has received flak from netizens.
The screenshot read "Bro just watched your interview clip where you normalise the scene where mamitha kneel down to propose the hero "enna d Bitu padam pose la iruka" DON'T NORMALISE THAT SHIT MAN. A real good friends never talk like that and it's not something you should be talking about it's like very common among friends NOT IT'S NOT, and it's such-a shameful thing as a director you say it's common, normal among friends. And the movie is a total mess, there's no connection between the scenes. It felt like some cringe reels put together. Make some sensible movies hereafter atleast." Keerthishwaran replied "go and have some life rather than sliding into my dm". The user then said "After watching the film and a short interview clip with Sudhir. As a person who spend my money to watch the film. I decided to share my honest criticism with the director. I expected an upcoming filmmaker to be open to feedback from viewers, but instead he replied like this and this lacks him as an director in the first place. If this is how a new director handles criticism, it speaks volumes about his mindset and his ability to accept feedback. That alone says enough about the intentions behind him and his film."
