Krafton,
our beloved PUBG and BGMI publisher, took the internet by storm with the announcement of Project Mindless in the Sony State of Play February 2026 event. The game is based on a Korean novel 'The Bird That Drinks Tears', and the events of the game will happen a thousand years before the events In the book actually happened. The Project Mindless trailer is nothing less than a spectacle, and it unveils the Goated chicken protagonist in an electrifying environment. Sounds fascinating, right? Hold your horses, lads, I've not even started the fascinating part yet.
The Bird That Drinks Tears Vs Project Windless: What Will Be The Difference
See, I am pretty much interest in a lot of stuff, and my reading has no end and no specific inclination even, for that matter. But I'll be lying if I say that I've read The Bird That Drinks Tears. But, I gathered all the information on the book series and connected the dots, and now I have a proper idea of what is going to be the core difference between the book and the game. So, the book is the aftermath of what happened a thousand years ago when the Rekon Warrior waged war against different races and changed the sociopolitical condition of the whole region. So, if you have read the books or anything about them, you already know that it is about a group of members from all four races (be patient, we will discuss this in detail), including Humans, Rekons, Tokkebi and Nhaga going on an expedition together that could save the world or end it if anything goes wrong.Coming to the game, it will be exploring the story of the fracture that exists between all four mentioned races, telling us where it all started. In the game, high chances are that we will get to see the non-established boundaries between the races and the pivotal event that created the divide.
Project Windless Vs AAA Games: What Will Work As A Differentiator
As cliché as it may sound, whenever I hear chicken, I just can't omit the suffix Biryani (my soul belongs to Lucknow) from my mind. When the protagonist made a debut, I was like, Ohhh that's a monstrous chicken, And when it ended, I was like, 'See that's Kratos, Ohh sorry an Avian Warrior.'The game looks like, feels like, and to be honest, breathes like God of War, at least in terms of showing gigantic monsters and a sigma protagonist who can single anyone out. Before getting a proper gameplay trailer, I don't want to claim anything, but yes, the game could be a promising one, especially for those who crave to see skull-crushing battles. I am sold just on the idea of grabbing my dual-sense to play like a dual sword-wielding warlord who slashes enemies like fruits in Fruit Ninja and dominates the races.
Project Windless Story: Not A Made Up One, Just Predictions
Before jumping into game story predictions, let's understand its world first. Based on the novel, there are four races in the world, including Humans, Rekons, Tokkebi, and Nhaga. Humans are just that, nothing more, nothing less. Rekons are avian warriors, Tokkebi are fire-wielding tricksters, and Nhaga are immortal reptilian individuals. As for the story of the game, it will revolve around the Rekon warrior and how his decisions, differences, and alliances shaped the future of the four races. The game's end will surely happen on a note where it will get completely synced with the developments and direction that we get to see in the novel. All other details are still under wraps as of now, and I am in no mood to tell you that according to dungeonfunder143 on X, the game will bring Kratos, and they will be further joined by Iron Man to establish that the Rekon Warrior will be returning in Avengers Doomsday to fight Dr Doom.
Krafton's Journey From Winner Winner Chicken Dinner To Here Comes The Chicken Sinner
Don't even dare give your two cents about that sinner thing I mentioned. Firstly, it rhymes well, and secondly, he is not going to be a saint. The Rekon Warrior is in the midst of a war torn world where fighting for his race means killing the good and the bad from other races as well to claim a dominant hold on the scenario. There will be a lot of bloodshed, ruthless decisions, bone-chilling killing sprees, and whatnot. All in all, the game looks promising to me, and I am just waiting for the gameplay trailer (but not more than Wolverine, adamantium claws, and unhinged Logan are irreplaceable). As for Krafton's, it is their first triple AAA project, and I know they'll try their best to make it a success. However, making a place in gamers' libraries will be a tricky affair for Project Mindless, considering that titles like John Wick, Marvel's Wolverine, and GTA 6 are on the way.
