Sweeney’s latest promotional stunt may land her in legal trouble, with possible charges of criminal trespass and/or vandalism. The controversy stems from a video that surfaced about a week ago showing the actress climbing the iconic Hollywood H sign at night with her production team to promote her upcoming lingerie brand. The actress is also set to star in a movie adaptation of the video game Split Fiction and a remake of Barbarella.
Sydney Sweeney lands in legal trouble?
As per reports by TMZ, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce which holds property rights of the Hollywood sign might have filed vandalism charges against actress
Sydney Sweeney for her video, climbing the H sign to hang bras on it, an attempt to promote her upcoming lingerie brand. According to the HCC, neither the production company nor anybody from the team had taken official permission to use to sign for commercial purpose. The project is funded by Jeff Bezos. Sydney got a permit from FilmLA to shoot the Hollywood Sign, but she did not have permission to touch or climb the sign itself.
The head of Hollywood Chamber of Commerce told TMZ, "There was no permission granted to do this as is required." Sydney, along with the entire team, took off all the bras but around 5 were left handing.
