Veteran Tamil producer R.B. Choudary died in a car accident in Udaipur on Tuesday. His body is being brought to Chennai tomorrow. The heartbreaking news was confirmed by his team in an official statement that read, “Deeply saddened to hear that legendary film producer RB Choudary sir (Super Good Films) has passed away in a tragic car accident in Udaipur just now." The statement further said that his immense contribution to Indian cinema, through decades of memorable films, will always be remembered. "This is an irreplaceable loss to the film fraternity. Deepest condolences to his family and dear ones. May his soul rest in peace (sic)," read the rest of the note.

Chiranjeevi, who shared an emotional note remembering his association with the late producer. He wrote, “Deeply heartbroken to hear about the sudden and tragic loss of Legendary producer R.B. Choudary garu." The actor said that he had known Choudary for many years and was recently associated with him on the film God Father through Super Good Films. In his words, "He has shaped the careers of many talented directors and actors and brought countless stories to life." Who was RB Choudary?
R. B. Choudary had a remarkable journey before entering cinema. Hailing from a Rajasthani family, he initially worked in industries such as steel, exports, and jewellery. His transition into filmmaking began in the Malayalam film industry, where he produced films under the 'Super' banner before moving into Tamil cinema in 1989.He later founded Super Good Films, a banner that would go on to become synonymous with commercial success and strong storytelling. The production house was instrumental in launching and supporting several prominent filmmakers, including K. S. Ravikumar, Vikraman, Sasi, Ezhil and N. Lingusamy. Over the decades, the banner became closely associated with top stars, including
Vijay. One of its landmark productions was Jilla, starring Vijay and Mohanlal, which marked a major milestone for the company.
Beyond his professional achievements, Choudary was a family man. He is survived by his wife Mahjabeen and their four sons. His son Suresh has been actively involved in production, while Jeevan runs a steel business. His sons Jithan Ramesh and Jiiva have also made their mark in the film industry as actors and producers.
