Scrolling through endless Reels has become second nature for millions of users on Instagram and Facebook. Whether it is cooking tutorials, travel diaries, fitness challenges or comedy sketches, creators are increasingly building content that unfolds over multiple videos. Now, the US-based tech giant appears to be working on a feature that could make following those stories much easier. According to a report by TechCrunch, the Instagram-maker is currently testing a new feature called "Series" with a select group of creators. Instead of posting individual Reels that get buried among dozens of uploads, creators will be able to group related videos together into a single collection. What Is Meta's New Series Feature? The feature is designed to help
viewers watch connected content without hunting through a creator's profile. For example, if a creator is documenting a "30-Day Fitness Challenge" or sharing a step-by-step cooking course, all those Reels could be bundled into one dedicated Series. Users would then be able to access the entire collection from a separate Series page. The report claims creators can even add previously uploaded Reels to a Series, alongside newly published content. Perhaps more importantly, if a Reel from a Series appears in your feed, you may also get an option to jump directly into the complete collection instead of searching for the remaining episodes manually.Meta Wants Longer EngagementThe move signals a broader shift in how the Mark Zuckerberg-led firm is thinking about video content. Short-form videos remain hugely popular, but the company also appears interested in encouraging repeat viewing and deeper engagement. Last month, Instagram Vice President of Product Tessa Lyons said the platform wanted to become “a unique part of creators’ long-form strategy” alongside short-form content. In many ways, the new Series feature feels like an attempt to bridge those two worlds. For now, the feature remains in testing, but it could change how creators tell stories across Instagram and Facebook in the months ahead.
