While his solo set on Heart Break from his first solo LP and the hit Untitled, 2014 received a lot of praise from the venue audience, viewers who watched it through livestreams or on television started criticising it. The K-pop idol's 15-minute act received complaints for alleged lack of live singing. Many even claimed it did not include enough choreography or any other "spectacle" to go along with it. Social media users expressed that the performance relied on AR with large sections left to the track and for live pitch.

Reacting to all the noise, the singer left a "thumbs down" emoji as a comment on the post. Users were quick to interpret it as his reaction claiming dissatisfaction with his own performance.
