A source close to the development rubbished the reports about Ranveer Singh quitting Don 3 due to date issues. The insider said, “Ranveer Singh hasn’t walked out of Don 3 like the rumour mills claim. It’s actually an entirely different story. His exit was due to creative differences with the makers. To start with, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar offered him Don 3 after he had delivered three colossal flops. They stood by him even after Sanjay Leela Bhansali shelved Baiju Bawra because he was considered not saleable at the time.”

Well, Don 3 was quite a big project for Ranveer Singh. The insider further stated that Farhan Akhtar believed in Ranveer’s talent, as he offered him Don 3 despite him giving three back-to-back flops. The source said, “Don 3 is the hottest franchise, and Ranveer was stepping into the legendary shoes of not just Shah Rukh Khan but also Amitabh Bachchan. It is a dream role for any actor. Farhan was the only filmmaker who put his trust in Ranveer when others had backed out.
