Kim
Soo-Hyun and his controversy related to grooming the late actress Kim Sae-Ron is now heading in a new direction. Months after shocking allegations spread across social media and YouTube, new findings have reportedly cast serious doubt on the authenticity of the evidence used against the actor. According to a recent broadcast by MBC's investigative program Straight, voice recordings and chat messages that were presented as proof of misconduct were allegedly fabricated using AI and digital manipulation.
New Findings In Kim Soo-Hyun Case
On June 14, MBC's Straight aired an investigative report examining the evidence that had been circulated online regarding Kim Soo-Hyun and
Kim Sae-Ron. According to the program, police investigations concluded that audio recordings purportedly featuring Kim Sae-Ron were not authentic. Instead, authorities determined that the recordings had been generated using artificial intelligence technology. The report further alleged that chat messages presented as exchanges involving Kim Soo-Hyun had been manipulated to create a misleading narrative.
The report also claimed that the individual responsible for creating the AI-generated recordings attempted to profit from the fabricated material. According to Straight, the informant allegedly contacted Kim Soo-Hyun's agency and demanded money as well as a commercial endorsement opportunity in exchange for the files. The same person reportedly approached multiple YouTube channels, offering different versions of the AI-generated recordings while seeking financial compensation. If true, the revelations suggest that the material may have been created not to expose wrongdoing but to generate financial gain through sensational allegations.
YouTuber Kim Se-Ui Knew Evidence Was Fake?
One of the most explosive claims made during the broadcast was that YouTuber Kim Se Ui allegedly knew that the materials being circulated were not genuine. The YouTuber had previously spread allegations claiming that Kim Soo-Hyun had dated Kim Sae-Ron when she was underage and had later pressured her regarding financial debts. Those claims sparked intense public scrutiny and widespread discussion online. However, the MBC report alleges that the evidence supporting those accusations was fabricated and that the YouTuber was aware of its questionable authenticity.
Kim Se Ui was arrested late last month on allegations related to spreading false information and presenting fabricated evidence. He reportedly remains in custody after a court recently denied his request for release. Following the arrest, Kim Soo-Hyun's agency expressed gratitude to investigators and supporters who stood by the actor while authorities examined the allegations. Now, the actor is reportedly preparing an even stronger legal response. Initially seeking damages worth 12 billion KRW, Kim Soo-Hyun is now said to be increasing the amount to 30 billion KRW. The lawsuit aims to recover damages for the reputational, professional, and personal harm allegedly caused by the spread of false claims.
