Pushpa: The Rise (2021) and its sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024), Sukumar and star Allu Arjun created two of the highest grossers in Telugu cinema. The filmmaker has been working with Allu Arjun since his first film Arya back in 2004 and given the South star some of the biggest roles of his career. On the occasion of his 54th birthday, his longtime collaborator Allu shared a photo and note for his friend Sukumar. The Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo actor also wrote why Sukumar's birthday means so much to him and why it changed his life. Check out his Insta Story below!
Allu Arjun's 'special' note of Pushpa director Sukumar
Taking to his Insta Story, Allu Arjun posted a candid photo of himself in conversation with Sukumar. He wrote, "Happy Birthday, @aryasukku darling. Arya 2, the two reunited and of course, their collaboration on the
Pushpa films became historic. Allu Arjun won
his first National Film Award for Best Actor, and fourth Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu for his work as sandalwood smuggler Pushpa Raj in
Pushpa: The Rise.
Sukumar and Allu Arjun to reunite for Pushpa: The Rampage - Part 3?
In September 2025, Sukumar had
confirmed Pushpa 3 at the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) in Dubai. On stage with Allu Arjun and producer Naveen Yerneni, the filmmaker had shared, "Obviously, Pushpa 3
undi (Obviously, we're making Pushpa 3)."The second film ended on a cliffhanger and rumours have suggested that Vijay Deverakonda might be part of the film as a villain. However, fans will have to wait long for it as both Sukumar and Allu Arjun are busy with other projects.
