Google just announced today that Android Quick Share now works with the AirDrop system of Apple devices like iPad, Mac, and iPhones. This completely changes the way people used to share files between Android and Apple products. On Android phones, Apple devices will appear in the fullscreen Quick Share interface and serve as selectable targets if the Everyone for 10 minutes mode is active on AirDrop. The two-way sharing will work for both Apple and Android devices, allowing users to share videos, photos, and other files. Google said, 'This feature does not use a workaround; the connection is direct and peer-to-peer, meaning your data is never routed through a server, shared content is never logged, and no extra data is shared.' Nonetheless, one thing
that the readers should know is that Google has not partnered with Apple to bring this feature. Instead, it's Google's own implementation. Google said to 9to5Google in a reports that it would 'welcome collaboration opportunities to address interoperability issues between Android and iOS.' Furthermore, Google also said, 'We welcome the opportunity to work with Apple to enable Contacts Only mode in the future.'The firm also said, 'This new feature makes it possible to quickly share your photos, videos, and files with people you choose to communicate with, without worrying about the kind of phone they use.'The feature, as of now, is only available for the Google Pixel 10. We can see it coming for more devices in the near future.
