New Delhi is preparing to host the India AI Impact Summit 2026 next week, marking the first time a global AI summit of this scale is being held in the Global South. According to official details, the five-day event will bring together 15 to 20 heads of government, over 50 ministers and more than 40 Indian and international CEOs. With more than 700 sessions planned, the focus will range from AI safety and governance to ethical deployment, data protection and India’s roadmap for sovereign AI. Here is a closer look at what to expect.Dates, Venue And TimingsThe Summit will take place from February 16 to February 20 at Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. As per organisers, sessions will run daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.The venue itself
is massive, offering over 70,000 square metres of exhibition space. Officials say the India AI Expo will feature more than 400 exhibitors across seven thematic pavilions, bringing startups, public institutions and global tech firms under one roof.Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to formally inaugurate the event and chair a high-level CEO roundtable during the summit.Who Is Expected To AttendThe guest list reads like a who’s who of the tech world. Confirmed names include Google CEO Sundar Pichai, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani. Biocon Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw is also among the key attendees.Day-By-Day Highlights
- February 16 will open with keynote addresses, expert roundtables and policy-focused panel discussions. The India AI Expo will also be inaugurated on the same day.
- February 17 will deepen sectoral conversations, alongside the launch of Knowledge Compendiums covering AI in health, education, energy, agriculture, gender empowerment and disabilities.
- February 18 is set aside for a Research Symposium, where academics and think tanks will present cutting-edge findings and policy insights.
- February 19 will host the formal opening ceremony led by Prime Minister Modi, followed by a CEO roundtable discussing responsible AI and investment pathways.
- On February 20, GPAI Council meetings will review progress and conclude with the adoption of a Leaders’ Declaration.
