Aamir Khan To Begin Ashutosh Gowariker's Next
Aamir Khan and Ashutosh Gowariker are reuniting for a period sports drama based on the life of legendary Indian cricketer Lala Amarnath, set against the backdrop of the historic 1952 India-Pakistan Test series. This marks their first collaboration since Lagaan (2001), which remains one of the most celebrated sports films in Indian cinema history.According to Variety India, Aamir has officially allotted dates for this project and instructed the team to begin full-scale pre-production. The film is expected to begin its shoot around October 2026. The script, written by Piyush Gupta and Neeraj Singh, is already in its final stages and only needs minor refinements before the cameras roll.Farhan Akhtar has also been confirmed in a key role in the film. He is being considered to play Lala Amarnath's closest friend, a character from undivided India who eventually crosses over to Pakistan following the Partition. Both Aamir and Farhan are expected to undergo serious cricket training for their roles.Interestingly, Rajkumar Hirani is also connected to this project. He is co-producing the Lala Amarnath biopic alongside Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment.
3 Idiots Sequel Pushed To 2027

3 Idiots sequel, internally referred to as 4 Idiots, has been one of the most talked-about films in recent times. Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, R Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi are all confirmed to return, with the story set 15 years after the events of the original film.However, the sequel is not ready to go on the floors just yet. Sources say that while the core story is locked, the screenplay and dialogues are still being worked on. Since Aamir has decided to work on the Lala Amarnath biopic first, the 3 Idiots sequel is now expected to go on the floors in the second half of 2027.The delay is said to be a mutual decision between Aamir and Hirani, taken to ensure the film lives up to the massive expectations.
