Siddiqui’s daughter Shora has chosen her career path already. According to reports, she has been signed for Arijit Singh’s directorial debut, which is yet to be announced officially. At the age of 16, Shora is sure that a career in cinema is the way ahead. Now, in Zoom Spotlight Sessions’ latest episode, Nawazuddin reacted to the internet gushing over her and urged him to launch her at the earliest. While he remained coy about Shora and her acting journey, Siddiqui assured that she will make her debut, but at the right time.

When asked about Shora becoming the internet’s darling at 16, doting father Nawazuddin said she is passionate about acting, but education comes first. Siddiqui further said that though she hasn’t watched many of his films, she remains to be his harshest critic. “Meri beti ne meri zyada filmein dekhi nahi hai. Ek-do dekhi hogi. Gangs bhi chupke se dekhi hogi. Mere dance ke upar criticise karti hai. Voh bolti hai, dance mat kiya karo. Confidence khatam kar diya,” he quipped.

As per reports, Shora will be directed by Arijit in the film that’s already on floors. She has already started shooting and is in the middle of filming. In 2024, Nawazuddin told Film Companion about her passion for acting.

Talking about the cinema industry, Nawazuddin highlighted racism and said, "But as they say, when you kill a cockroach, people say it's good that you killed it. But when you kill a butterfly, people say, why did you kill it? So, things are very selective. Just like there is a lot of selectivity in racism. It is there. It is there in many places. In the sense that I expect that you don't decide what beauty is, let people decide." He added, "People have their perspective. But don't use that in the system. If she is like this, she can't be the lead. But it's not their fault because the stories are written like that. A girl who is fair, stories are written about her. You get a brief. A lot of people are struggling with it."
