The
entire film industry is saddened by the loss of legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra. The Sholay star passed away at the age of 89 on November 24, 2025. After the news of his demise, several Indian celebrities paid tribute and last respects to the veteran actor. Priyanka Chopra, too, shared an emotional note on Instagram. The actress revealed that her first signing amount came from Vijayta Films. She further admitted that Dharmendra's death feels 'personal'.
Priyanka Chopra's moving note for Dharmendra
Taking to her official Instagram handle, Priyanka shared a throwback picture with the late actor. While sharing it, she pnned a note that read, "In the year 2001, my first signing amount in the movies came from Vijayta Films. One of the first Hindi movies I ever shot was under his banner, with his eldest son. Him and his family, made me feel welcome in the industry, at a time when no one knew me. Very few people are capable of that kind of warmth and grace, towards a complete newcomer, who didn’t know anyone in Mumbai."
Priyanka added that she has known the Deol family since the beginning of her career. The actress also revealed that she has worked in multiple movies with Dharmendra's sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.

Priyanka calls Dharmendra 'true blue Hindi film hero'
On a concluding note, the actress highlighted how the veteran actor made a permanent mark in the 'tough' industry without any godfather and carried his family along. "A true blue Hindi film Hero. Rest in paradise, Dharamji. My condolences to the entire Deol family. Om Shanti," she wrote.Meanwhile, Dharmendra's last rites were held today in Mumbai.
