The controversy began after a video clip from TV Actor Manya Anand's interview surfaced online where she spoke about a person from Dhanush's team asking her 'adjust' to get a role in a film. This has sparked discussion and speculation about the manager's involvement in it. However, she later issued a note saying that the video was taken out of context and her intention was to raise awareness about the misuse of actor Dhanush's name.

Sreyas released a statement denying any involvement in the matter. He reiterated that any casting calls or offers made under his name or Wunderbar Films Pvt Ltd are fake and baseless. A formal complaint has been lodged with the police authorities in connection with this issue. Thank youSreyas" read the statement.

Manya Anand also issued a clarification which read "The post read "Hi all this is regarding my recent interview with Cineulagam (link mentioned). I noticed that several channels are spreading wrong information about Dhanush sir based on that interview. Please watch the original video where I clearly mentioned that the person who contacted may be a fake person claiming to be Shreyas and asking for movies. I also said that I would be sharing that number with Dhanush sir's team to get it clarified. I kindly request everyone not to spread false news. Please refer to the original video before drawing conclusions. Thank you."
