In an unexpected turn of events, Jim Hopper and Eddie Munson might get to share screen space for the first time. But don't get us wrong. This is not happening in the now closed Stranger Things universe.
David Harbour and Joseph Quinn played the popular characters in the Netflix show that recently had its series finale. Interestingly, they are also part of the main cast of Marvel's next tentpole, Avengers: Doomsday. This opens up the possibility of Harbour and Quinn finally getting to be in the same frame. If at all this happens, it is being touted as a memorable moment for fans of both Stranger Things and the MCU.
Fans react to possibility of David Harbour, Joseph Quinn sharing screen space
Netizens continue to speculate with several social media posts surfacing on X (formerly Twitter), where they expressed excitement to see David Harbour and Joseph Quinn together. While the actors might have bid goodbye to Jim Hopper and Eddie Munson, they are part of the Marvel family as Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian in
Thunderbolts (New Avengers) and Johnny Storm / Human Torch in the
Fantastic Four family. Considering how all the new superheroes of the MCU will join hands against Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr, it is expected that even Red Guardian and Johnny Storm will cross paths.
Fans have been reacting to the possibility. A fan posted on X, "I am excited to see this." A second post read, "this interaction is gonna be wild fr" A user screamed, "Wait… EDDIE and HOPPER finally in the same scene?? This is about to be insane." Another fan took the jibe, "I'm glad that hopper decided to forget the idea of montauk and that Eddie is still alive."
More Stranger Things' reunions in Marvel Cinematic Universe
Some even noted how Hopper never knew about Eddie being part of the Hawkins gang, as he was fighting Demogorgons in a Russian prison when the latter sacrificed himself in the Upside Down. Others expressed hope that their characters, Red Guardian and Johnny Storm, might get to meet Sadie Sink's character (probably Jean Grey) in
Avengers: Secret Wars too, now that Sadie is making her Marvel debut with
Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
