Cillian Murphy returns as Tommy Shelby
This might be Oscar winner Cillian Murphy's last time playing the iconic Tommy Shelby. The film is set in 1940 during World War II, with the return of Tommy to Birmingham after leaving the city in the series finale. Creator Knight told
Empire magazine about the end of this part of the story. He stated, “It’s the last few chapters of a long novel, where you get to round it off. And prepare people for what comes next.”

Peaky Blinders sequel series, with a new star cast, has also been commissioned by Netflix. It will take place 10 years after The Immortal Man film.
Barry Keoghan's mysterious new character
Saltburn actor Barry Keoghan joins the show as a mysterious new character who leads a new generation of Peaky Blinders in 1940s Birmingham. He gets to utter the iconic line, "By order of the Peaky Blinders..." The actor revealed that he nearly joined the show many times during the six-season run. He told
Empire, “I’d always wanted to be part of it. But the schedules never worked, or I didn’t fit the description of what they were looking for.”

Dunkirk co-star Murphy called to ask him, the actor couldn't say no after he heard who he was playing. Keoghan added, "I said, ‘Of course, bro. At the drop of a hat.' I was like, ‘Freakin’ yeah. Anything to work with yourself again.’"
Rebecca Ferguson is Kaulo
Silo star Rebecca Ferguson has played some badass characters in the
Mission Impossible and
Dune franchises. In The Immortal Man, she plays a character named Kaulo acquainted with Tommy Shelby. What Kaulo does hasn't been revealed, but the character won't be having a local accent. She told Murphy, who is an executive producer on the project, "Basically, I said, ‘I can’t do a fucking Brummie [accent], mate, so what are we going to do about this? That ain’t happening. Could she be Swedish?’”
