Peaky Blinders Film: First Look At Cillian Murphy, Barry Keoghan, And Rebeca Ferguson In The Immortal Man

cannot contain their excitement as Cillian Murphy is set to return as Tommy Shelby in the new Peaky Blinders film next year. Now, new looks of the Oscar winner and new cast members Barry Keoghan and Rebeca Ferguson have been revealed. Created by Steven Knight, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man will continue the story of the Birmingham gangs first started on BBC in 2013. Cillian Murphy returns as Tommy Shelby

This might be Oscar winner Cillian Murphy's last time playing the iconic Tommy Shelby. The film is set in 1940 during World War II, with the return of Tommy to Birmingham after leaving the city in the series finale. Creator Knight told Empire magazine about the end of this part of the story. He stated, “It’s the last few chapters of a long novel, where you get to round it off. And prepare people for what comes next.”

A Peaky Blinders sequel series, with a new star cast, has also been commissioned by Netflix. It will take place 10 years after The Immortal Man film.

Barry Keoghan's mysterious new character

Saltburn actor Barry Keoghan joins the show as a mysterious new character who leads a new generation of Peaky Blinders in 1940s Birmingham. He gets to utter the iconic line, "By order of the Peaky Blinders..." The actor revealed that he nearly joined the show many times during the six-season run. He told Empire, “I’d always wanted to be part of it. But the schedules never worked, or I didn’t fit the description of what they were looking for.”

Keoghan added, "I said, ‘Of course, bro. At the drop of a hat.' I was like, ‘Freakin’ yeah. Anything to work with yourself again.’"

Rebecca Ferguson is Kaulo

Silo star Rebecca Ferguson has played some badass characters in the Mission Impossible and Dune franchises. In The Immortal Man, she plays a character named Kaulo acquainted with Tommy Shelby. What Kaulo does hasn't been revealed, but the character won't be having a local accent. She told Murphy, who is an executive producer on the project, "Basically, I said, ‘I can’t do a fucking Brummie [accent], mate, so what are we going to do about this? That ain’t happening. Could she be Swedish?’”

Directed by Tom Harper, The Immortal Man also stars Tim Roth, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, Ian Peck, Jay Lycurgo, and Stephen Graham. The Peaky Blinders sequel series is set in the 1950s and expected to release next year after The Immortal Man.
