Ranveer
Singh has finally found some support from the film industry. After his exit from Don 3, the actor faced flak along with a non-cooperation directive issued by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). Now, veteran actress and CINTAA Vice-President Padmini Kolhapure has publicly extended support to Ranveer Singh. Her remarks come right after CINTAA president Poonam Dhillon also questioned why the actors' association was allegedly not informed before FWICE’s decision became public. It will definitely be a huge relief to Ranveer Singh that CINTAA leaders have now made it clear that they stand firmly beside the actor.
CINTAA stands with Ranveer Singh
Speaking to IANS, Padmini, who was accompanied by music composer Anu Malik, praised the Ranveer and said that the association would support him whenever required. "
CINTAA is proud to have Ranveer Singh as our member. We stand by him and stand for him whenever he needs us," she said. Padmini further added that since the matter is already being discussed publicly, she does not wish to comment extensively on the issue itself. However, she made it clear that the association is available for Ranveer Singh if he seeks support. "We are here for him, with him. If he ever needs us, we are for Ranveer Singh," she stated.
Just a day earlier, CINTAA president Poonam Dhillon had also reacted to the issue while speaking to HTCity. Poonam revealed that CINTAA was allegedly not informed about the matter despite Ranveer Singh being one of its members. According to Poonam, the association could have attempted to mediate between both parties and conduct more research into the dispute if they had been consulted earlier. The actress also expressed discomfort with the use of the word 'banning' in relation to Ranveer Singh. She described it as a very strong term to use against an actor and praised Ranveer as a hardworking individual and a “role model” who built his career through talent and dedication. Poonam additionally stated that CINTAA only became aware of the issue through media reports, which she suggested was not the ideal way to handle an industry dispute involving one of its members.
About Ranveer Singh's Don 3 controversy
The controversy began after Ranveer Singh allegedly exited
Don 3 just weeks before the film was expected to go on floors. The project, being directed and produced by Farhan Akhtar, was reportedly already deep into preparation when the development surfaced. Soon after the reports emerged, FWICE announced a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh on May 25, 2026. According to reports, the action followed a complaint filed by Farhan Akhtar, who allegedly claimed that the actor’s sudden exit caused financial losses of nearly Rs 45 crore to the production. However, FWICE president BN Tiwari has previously clarified that the federation’s intention is not to permanently ban Ranveer Singh but to hear his side of the story and resolve the matter appropriately.
