Bhosle’s demise left her most beloved person, Zanai Bhosle, devastated. The veteran singer was less a grandmother, more of a friend to her granddaughter. Zanai, an aspiring actor and a singer, gave her ‘Ashaai’ an emotional goodbye on Monday, April 13. Standing by her bereaved family’s side and greeting guests humbly, she broke down often as the last rites unfolded. The pain of losing her partner-in-crime was felt by everyone present under the same roof. A day after the 92-year-old singer’s cremation, Zanai gathered her thoughts and paid the best tribute to the love of her life.

Zanai Bhosle remembers Asha Bhosle

Sharing a video on Instagram, which she mentioned was an inside joke between her and Asha, Zanai revealed she woke up wondering what she will do after losing the first person who would hug her, enjoy a cup of tea with and come back home to. Zanai further felt a sense of calm knowing that Asha is ‘looking down on us all’. She added, “I believe she’s going to comeback to me very soon, because that is what she promised me and told me always!!” and the grandmother is not known for breaking her promises. Calling Bhosle’s death the ‘bigger grief in the world’, she urged fans to live life to the fullest and always celebrate her. Her parting words for Ashaai were - “I love you ashaai, and goodbye for now my love.. I know you are always going to be with me no matter what, just waiting for you to come back to me and hug me once again.”

Zanai Bhosle reacts to tributes for Asha Bhosle

After the funeral, Zanai shared pictures from the crematorium, showing countless fans reuniting to celebrate their Asha Tai. Her caption read, "So overwhelmed with emotions, I'll write something when I can, but I have to say that there were so many people who have respected her and honoured her today and beyond it all shown her so much love. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. She deserved every bit of it. I realise that she lives on in every one of us in our hearts forever and she has seen it all from above."
