As per reports by Complex, Justin Baldoni 'failed to respond' to an October 17 amended complaint after the court initially dismissed their case in June. On October 31, U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman of the Southern District of New York ruled that Justin and his company, Wayfarer Studios, had missed their chance to reopen the case, officially putting an end to the $400 million legal battle.Although this ruling closes Justin’s defamation and extortion case against Blake, Ryan, and The New York Times, he can still file an appeal once the court decides on Lively’s motion to recover her legal fees. Amid the ongoing legal battle, last month the actress' paycheck for her recent film It Ends With Us, with Justin Baldoni made headlines. The whopping amount was nearly $2 million, along with significant bonus opportunities tied to box office performance and award recognition.The draft also included incentives related to award nominations and wins. Lively stood to earn $100,000 for an Oscar nomination and $200,000 if she won the award, with only the larger sum payable in the event of a victory. Additional bonuses were outlined for Golden Globe nods and wins ($75,000 and $100,000 respectively), as well as for SAG Awards nominations and wins ($50,000 and $75,000 respectively).
