According to the official synopsis of the K-drama from Netflix, "Boyfriend on Demand follows exhausted webtoon producer Mi-rae, who escapes reality through a subscription-based virtual dating simulation program where she gets to experience the dates of her dream. Blending the relatable challenges of daily work life and a never-before-seen virtual reality dating subscription program, Boyfriend on Demand is a unique take on the romantic comedy genre."
Blackpink's Jisoo plays Seo Mi-rae, who takes a second chance at love by entering the world of virtual reality with a program called Monthly Boyfriend. Meanwhile,
Doom at Your Service and
Café Minamdang star Seo In-guk plays Park Kyeong-nam, Mi-rae’s colleague and rival webtoon producer. Ryu Abel, Park Ji Ho, Kang Min Woo, Song Ha Na, Yoo Sun Ho, Kim Sung Cheol, Gong Min Jun, Seo Hyo Rim and Ko Kyu Pil are part of the ensemble cast. Lee Soo Hyuk, and Park Ha Young will be part of the series as guest stars.
