Vijay’s last film, Jana Nayagan, is yet to get a certificate from the CBFC, aka the censor board. The Tamil film is scheduled to be released on January 9, and the makers have been waiting for the certificate from the organisation. Due to the delay, the makers of Jana Nayagan have filed an urgent petition to the Madras High Court on behalf of KVN Productions. The petition seeks intervention to expedite the issuance of a censor certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. After the petition, the court is scheduled to hear the urgent petition at 2:15 pm after being requested by the makers for immediate redressal.
Jana Nayagan Makers Go To Court For Certificate
According to reports, the makers submitted Jana Nayagan to the CBFC on December 18. The film has been directed by H Vinoth. The makers quickly agreed to the changes suggested by the board. However, the certificate has not yet been issued by the CBFC. The delay has led to uncertainty for cinema lovers and audiences in Tamil Nadu.
Sadly, the advance ticket sales for both Jana Nayagan and Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi have been put on hold, as the certificates for both the films have not been issued by CBFC. Let us tell you, Parasakthi is scheduled to be released on January 10. Earlier, the representatives of Vijay’s political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), expressed their frustration. The Deputy General Secretary, CT Nirmal Kumar, has also issued a warning to the CBFC over the delay in the issuance of the certificate. He told India Today, “The deadline for CBFC certification is in the next few hours, or we will take our next step. We will discuss with Vijay and decide the course of action. Members of the CBFC have been sitting on the movie certificate since mid-December." Now, all are waiting for the court’s verdict in the matter. Stay tuned for more updates!
