AI is rapidly changing the future of warfare. From AI-powered drones to autonomous surveillance systems, militaries around the world are turning to advanced AI system to reduce risks for soldiers. Now, a US startup believes humanoid robots could soon become part of that future.According to a CNBC report, Foundation Future Industries, a San Francisco-based robotics company, is currently testing its Phantom MK-1 humanoid robots in Ukraine. The company says it hopes to deploy the robots alongside military forces within the next 18 months.Unlike several robotics firms that are developing humanoid robots for household tasks, the startup is focusing on industrial and military operations. According to them, robots can be used to handle jobs that are too
dangerous for humans. This Country Wants Humanoid Robots To Be Accountable, Creates Unique IDs For Them"Core to the company’s mission is the belief that humanoid robotics should be put towards humanity’s greatest challenges rather than household chores and service roles. I’m convinced the technology is reaching a level where it can replace jobs that are dangerous for humans to perform, and if you can do that, it’s the highest net good you can create out of all applications of robotics,” Foundation CEO Sankaet Pathak was quoted as saying in an interview with CNBC.The report revealed that the company earlier sent two Phantom MK-1 robots to Ukraine as part of a pilot programme supported by the US government and Ukrainian officials. The goal is to evaluate whether humanoid robots can safely carry out logistics and supply missions in hazardous areas where soldiers could be exposed to danger, as per the report. The startup founded in 2024 by Sankaet Pathak, Arjun Sethi and Mike LeBlanc has also drawn attention due to its connection with the Trump family. Eric Trump, son of US President Donald Trump, was previously an investor and now serves as an adviser. The company's plans and growing links with Washington show how AI and robotics are increasingly becoming part of modern warfare and a key focus for national security.
