Jr
NTR and director Prashanth Neel's much-anticipated collaboration as been in the spotlight over the last week feels. Tentatively known as Dragon, the film has generated interest for its scale, cast, and international shooting locations. However, rumours about production setbacks and creative dissatisfaction recently surfaced online, causing concern among fans. The makers have now issued a firm clarification, reaffirming that the film remains on track. At the same time, external factors, including geopolitical tensions during an overseas shoot, have made an impact on the filming schedule.
Official Clarification From Team Dragon
Mythri Movies Makers backing the ambitious film starring Jr NTR and directed by Prashanth Neel have firmly addressed recent rumours circulating on social media. Speculation suggested that an entire filming schedule had been scrapped due to dissatisfaction with the lead actor’s appearance. In response, the team categorically denied these claims, stating that there was “absolutely no truth” to such reports. They clarified that the current pause in filming is merely a routine preparation gap rather than a disruption.
Despite assurances that production is proceeding as planned, questions remain regarding the film’s release timeline. Initially targeting a June 25 release, the film now appears unlikely to meet that date. Major portions of the film are yet to be shot, and promotional material has not been unveiled. While the makers have not officially announced a postponement, reports suggest that the film is tentatively expected to arrive in Summer 2027.
Jordan Schedule Cut Short
One of the major developments affecting the production occurred during a crucial shoot in Jordan earlier this year. The team had been filming high-intensity action sequences in semi-arid landscapes when the schedule was abruptly shortened. This decision was not due to creative issues but rather due geopolitical tensions in West Asia. Military developments involving Israel, the United States, and Iran raised safety concerns. With Amman’s airspace flagged under high-risk advisories and travel disruptions increasing, the production team chose to prioritise safety.
A similar situation occurred in 2020 during the filming of Aadujeevitham, when its crew was stranded in Jordan for nearly 70 days due to pandemic-related lockdowns. By acting swiftly, the makers of Dragon avoided such a scenario, ensuring the safety and smooth return of their cast and crew. The film boasts a strong ensemble cast, including Rukmini Vasanth, Anil Kapoor, and Bimal Oberoi, with music composed by Ravi Basrur. Reports suggest that Jr NTR has undergone a significant physical transformation for the role, adopting a leaner and more agile physique to perform high-risk stunts.
