Warsi is one of the top actors in the industry today. He had a challenging childhood and was not much of a silver spoon baby. In one of his earlier interviews, Warsi reminisced about the constant relocation of his home while he was young, and the adversity of losing his parents at an early age, saying it wasn't an easy life for him. Arshad, who was last seen as the judge on the TV reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, was born in Mumbai to musician Ahmed Ali Khan. He did his schooling at a boarding school in Maharashtra's Nashik. The actor was orphaned at a very young age, and struggled for a living in Mumbai during his early days.

Recalling his journey, Arshad said, "Our situation was quite strange. There was a phase when I used to go to boarding school, and when I returned, we would shift from that house. I was very young, around 10-12 years old. I didn't know what was happening.”

He then revealed how he was always told stories that there was some renovation going on at his place, and they would stay there for a few days, then go back. "I would go back and forth, and each time the house would get smaller. It was basically a cycle of difficulties that didn't seem to end." The Munna Bhai MBBS actor further added that he brought himself up, connecting the dots and fighting his way through life. "It wasn't an easy life. And you know what, I look at life from a different perspective. If my life had been easy, I wouldn't have enjoyed it."

Arshad Warsi's Connection With Jaya Bachchan

Jaya Bachchan is pivotal to Arshad Warsi's career, as she cast him in his 1996 debut film Tere Mere Sapne under the ABCL banner. Warsi credits her with giving him his big break, having chosen him because his audition photos showed 36 different expressions. She also notoriously schooled him on acting, honesty, and appropriate dressing.

Warsi recounted that he was approached by director Joy Augustine for a role in a film backed by Amitabh Bachchan’s production company. However, he was hesitant to accept the offer because he doubted his acting skills. The actor recalled telling the production team that he can't act, despite his reservations, Warsi sent his photos to the production company. To his surprise, he received a call from Jaya Bachchan, who wanted to meet him. He then recalled how Jaya kept asking him if he spoke Hindi, to which he nervously responded in English, despite understanding the language perfectly. Much to his shock, instead of rejecting him, Jaya Bachchan told him he would be doing the film. Warsi humorously remarked that at that moment, he felt like his world had ended.
