An
era has come to an end with legendary singer Asha Bhosle's death. The 92-year-old breathed her last on April 12 due to multiple organ failure at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Asha Tai's son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed the same and shared that his mother will be cremated today. Since morning, many Bollywood actors, musicians, politicians, and sports personalities visited Casa Grande to pay their last respects to Asha Tai. For that matter, her loved ones, including playback singer Meena Khadikar, were present.
Meena Khadikar pays tribute to Asha Bhosle
Meena Khadikar is the elder sister of Asha Bhosle and second eldest daughter of Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar. The Indian playback singer arrived on a wheelchair at her late sister's Mumbai residence. She paid tribute to Asha Tai. Besides Meena Khadikar, Asha Tai's younger sister, Usha Mangeshkar, was present at the Shivaji Park crematorium.

Meena Khadikar has crooned only few songs in Hindi cinema and composed some songs in the Marathi film industry. She sung Mother India's track Duniya Mein Hum Aaye Jain with her sisters Usha Mangeshkar and late Mangeshkar. The singer also lent her voice for Phagun Aaya for the album, Pilpili Saheb. Meena ji alsp turned author for the Hindi version of her elder sister Lata Mangeshkar's biography. Speaking about it, in a 2019 interview with Mumbai Mirror, she said, "A copy of the book and a big fat birthday cake is what I’ll be giving her this year." In fact, the foreword of the book had been penned by Amitabh Bachchan. "When we sent a word to Bachchan Sr, he immediately agreed. He has a lot of affection for Didi," she had said.
Asha Bhosle cremated with full state honours
Talking about Asha Tai, her mortal remains were taken to the Shivaji Park crematorium. She was
laid to rest with full state honours. Celebrities like Aamir Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Ranveer Singh and many others paid their last respects to the singer. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and State Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar also were present to pay last respects to Asha Tai. Earlier today, Sachin Tendulkar, Vivek Oberoi, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Tabu, Asha Parekh, and others visited Asha Tai's residence and offered condolences.For the unversed, Asha Bhosle sang more than 12,000 songs in her eight-decade-long music career. She was even nominated for The Grammy awards. May Asha Tai's soul rest in peace.
