first month of the new year shall set the tone for 2026 in Bollywood. As India gears up to celebrate Republic Day on January 26, filmmakers will put their best foot forward to entertain the audience who will still be in holiday mood. Making every weekend count, directors and production houses have locked dates for their movies. The first day of January 2026 brings Dharmendra’s last film, Ikkis, to theatres. Later in the month, Sunny Deol arrives with Border 2 co-starring Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. January 2026 is also the month when Imran Khan ends his decade-long hiatus with Happy Patel, backed by uncle Aamir Khan’s production house. Ikkis – January 1, 2026

Ikkis follows the journey of Arun Khetarpal from his commissioning into the 17 Poona Horse regiment after graduating from the Indian Military Academy to his heroic actions during the Battle of Basantar in December 1971. Directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Maddock Films, the film marks the debut of Akshay Kumar’s niece Simar Bhatia. Agastya Nanda, the grandson of veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan will be seen on the big screen for the first time after his debut movie The Archies released on Netflix. The film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Deepak Dobriyal and others in pivotal roles. Ikkis is Dharmendra’s last film.

Rahu Ketu - January 16, 2026

Rahu Ketu, directed by Vipul Garg, is headlined by Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma and Shalini Pandey. Presented by Zee Studios and produced by Zee Studios and BLive Productions, it is a romantic comedy that promises a celestial, hilarious ride around astrology. The film follows the story of Rahu and Ketu, two clueless people born from writer Churu Lal's magical notebook, who set off on a chaotic mission to retrieve it from the crafty Meenu Taxi.

Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos - January 16, 2026

Imran Khan is making a comeback after a decade with Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos. Co-starring Aamir Khan, Mona Singh, Mithila Palkar, Sharib Hashmi and others, it is a spy-comedy that promises a fun and unconventional take on the espionage genre. Directed by Vir Das, the film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions.

One Two Cha Cha Chaa - January 16, 2026

Produced by Pellucidar Production Pvt Ltd and directed by Abhishek Raj and Rajnish Thakur, with co-producer Amit Gupta, One Two Cha Cha Chaa stars Ashutosh Rana, Abhimanyu Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Harsh Mayar, Lalit Prabhakar, Anant V Joshi, Ashok Pathak, and Nyyraa Banerjee. It is touted to be an action and adventure comedy.

Border 2 - January 23, 2026

Border 2, headlined by Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, is based on the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series, in association with J.P. Dutta’s J.P. Films. Backed by a powerful production team including Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, and directed by Anurag Singh, the film will celebrate the legacy of honouring the heroism and indomitable spirit of Indian soldiers.
