Lokesh Kanagaraj who has helmed films such as Maanagaram, Kaithi, Master, Vikram, Leo and Coolie was said to be directing a film featuring Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, but buzz around it significantly reduced after Coolie's critical reception from fans. Santhosh Moni, who has been part of Lokesh Kanagaraj's team, has shared the picture from his direction team to confirm the squad is reuniting for a new project. He captioned the image "#LK7#team,". Soon fans took to social media to guess if it will be Kaithi 2 or a brand new project. Kaithi 2 will star Karthi in the lead and is part of LCU.
Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj has started filming for his debut film as a hero. Titled DC, the film directed by Arun Matheswaran is said to be shot continuously for a period of 45-day schedule for the team in Chennai. Wamiqa Gabbi plays the female lead opposite Lokesh Kanagaraj, and the film is reported to be a action entertainer.
As per Times Of India, Lokesh Kanagaraj has received a salary of Rs. 35 crore for DC. This is comes as a surprise for several fans as this a huge paycheck for a director who is making his debut. It has been reported that this amount is not just for his acting but also for contributing to the film as a screenplay writer.
