Anupam Kher attended the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on Thursday, ahead of the screenings of three of his films at the prestigious event. The slate of films scheduled to be screened includes Tanvi The Great, The Bengal Files, and the Canadian film Calorie, written and directed by Indo-Canadian filmmaker Eisha Marjara. The 56th edition of IFFI, running from November 20 to 28, will feature over 240 films from 81 countries.
Anupam Kher celebrates 40 years of Saraansh screening at IFFI
Reflecting on his long association with IFFI, Kher, who has been part of the festival for over four decades, expressed a sense of nostalgia, recalling the inclusion of his debut film Saaransh in the Panorama section. “It’s been 40 years since my first film, Saaransh, was part of the Panorama section. Sometimes, we don't fully realise the importance of our own festivals, but IFFI is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious film festivals. It was here that I met some of the greatest directors of all time, including Federico Fellini, Akira Kurosawa, and Elia Kazan,” Kher shared with ANI.
