2, titled Dhurandhar The Revenge, recently landed in trouble. During a press conference, filmmaker Santosh Kumar RS alleged that the Ranveer Singh starrer is plagiarised. The director claimed that Aditya Dhar's spy thriller had been copied from his script. He further mentioned that the makers of Dhurandhar 2 have 'manipulated' his project and script and exploited him. According to Santosh, he registered his script with the Screenwriters Association in 2023. The latest update is that Aditya has reportedly sent a legal notice to Santosh.

Legal notice sent to Santosh Kumar RS amid Dhurandhar 2 plagiarism row?

A source told Hindustan Times that Dhurandhar 2 director Aditya Dhar has already issued a legal notice to Santosh Kumar RS through his legal team and refuted the allegations. The source added that Santosh is requested to refrain from making false claims. The report further states that Santosh continues to make 'baseless allegations,' while Aditya is in the process of initiating legal proceedings against him.

However, Santosh has refuted reports of receiving a legal notice. "It is not a notice, it is just a reply on my mail. They were harassing me, that I should not complain and that I am defaming them for my publicity. I told them in going legal, so don't send me messages, come to court," he told the publication.The filmmaker further alleged that the fictional main character in Dhurandhar 2 has been 'copied.' He even claimed that Aditya had taken main lines of his movie, titled D-Saheb, and added 'political propaganda' to them. That said, the makers of Dhurandhar 2 haven't issued an official statement yet.

Santosh Kumar RS' allegations are false: Source

A source also told the publication that 'all the allegations of Santosh, that his script is being stolen by makers of Dhurandhar or it amounts to infringement of his alleged rights, are baseless, false and untenable.' It further mentioned that the story of Dhurandhar 2 is an original idea and brainchild of Aditya, who wrote the movie and registered it with the Screenwriters Association in September 2023. On the other hand, Santosh claimed that he registered the script in November 2023.
