The
Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri has joined a long line of industry experts who have gone out of their way in singing praise of Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar. The Ranveer Singh starrer espionage film, which managed to strike a chord with critics and audience alike debuted in theatres on December 5. Agnihotri, who had been away from India for the last two months has now posted an update on X, formerly Twitter, revealing that watching the Aditya Dhar film was the first thing he did on returning to the country. The director, in a long note, revealed he was 'mind blown' by the film and was 'proud' of what Dhar had achieved.

Taking to X, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri wrote a long note on Ranveer Singh's
Dhurandhar, stating, "Just landed back in India after two months and the first thing we did was watch @AdityaDharFilms
Dhurandhar. Mind blown and proud are the only words that come to my mind."
According to Agnihotri, anyone who knows what goes into making a film would understand what it takes to pull something like this off. He went on to add, "The vision, the writing, the confidence, the belief in your own instinct… this kind of cinema doesn’t happen by chance."
Vivek Agnihotri Praises Dhurandhar Production Team
Agnihotri went on to praise production design of
Dhurandhar by Saini S Johray, calling it "pathbreaking" and adding it was "not decorative, but narrative". He also lauded Sashwat Sachdev, stating, "the extraordinary music by young maestro @shashwatology is not just innovative but deeply rooted." He further added, "The cinematography by Vikas Nowlakha is a new textbook for young DOPs."

The filmmaker also added a separate note on the performances stating that while "some will obviously be more talked about," but the "victory of
Dhurandar" lies in the fact that even the smallest, most insignificant characters have "delivered top-notch performances." He added, "Every face feels cast, directed, and placed with intention. Most importantly, every department is in rare sync, working as one organism. That kind of cohesion doesn’t happen by accident. That’s when you know it’s purely a writer/director’s film."

Noting Aditya Dhar's direction, he wrote, "I’ve always admired your work, especially your sense of scale and design, but this is you operating on another level. I watched the film with genuine pride… proud of you, proud of the craft, proud of Indian cinema.""You are blessed. Truly. God’s own child. More power to you. Keep going. Keep raising the bar," he further wrote about Dhar before concluding that when the younger generation does work like
Dhurandhar, Indian cinema "moves forward."
Dhurandhar also stars Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi. The Aditya Dhar film took exactly a month to scale the Rs 1200-crore mark globally.
