Rajinikanth Celebrates Birthday On Sets Of Jailer 2

On 12 December, the sets of Jailer 2 welcomed birthday boy Rajinikanth on to the sets with much joy. Stepping out from his caravan, Rajinikanth was greeted by the team of his upcoming film Jailer 2, including

director Nelson Dilipkumar. As he walked onto the sets, Rajinikanth displayed a surprised expression, as the key members of the film were waiting to greet him with a cake. He then proceed to cut it and take pictures.

Sun Pictures, the film's official production house shared the video with text "Happy Birthday Superstar @rajinikanth! From the sets of #Jailer2 #HBDSuperstarRajinikanth #HappyBirthdaySuperstarRajinikanth". Another post read "Moments from the sets of #Jailer2 celebrating our Superstar’s birthday! #HBDSuperstarRajinikanth #HappyBirthdaySuperstarRajinikanth"Cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan was among those seen cutting the cake along with the superstar.

Jailer 2 will feature Rajinikanth reprising his role as 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian in the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster. He will return alongside Ramya Krishnan, who portrayed his wife's role in the first part. While the likes of Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar, who made cameo appearances in Jailer, are expected to appear in this as well, other names like Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna, Vijay Sethupathi, Vidya Balan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Mithun Chakraborty are also rumoured to be part of the sequel's cast.

Vinayakan and Santhanam recently hinted that being a part of the cast. Additionally, Meghana Raj Sarja also made hints that she is making her return to Tamil cinema with Jailer 2 in a key role. Malayalam actor Anna Raajan, best known for her breakthrough role in Lijo Jose Pellissery's Angamaly Diaries (2017), is also part of the cast.Backed by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures, Jailer 2will have music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and editing by R Nirmal. Jailer 2 is slated for a release in theatres worldwide in June 2026.
