BTS unknowingly shaped the journey of CORTIS’ youngest star? A recent revelation by Keonho has us connecting emotional dots between the global K-pop icons and the rising boy band CORTIS. Appearing on a popular Korean web show, Keonho opened up about the surprising moment that altered his life’s direction, one that began with a simple question about BTS and later led him to dance to their megahit Dynamite. Read on to know more about BTS' impact on Keonho.
Keonho and BTS' surprising connection
CORTIS leader Martin and youngest member Keonho recently appeared as guests on episode 126 of TEO’s web variety show
SalonDrip, hosted by Jang Do Yeon. The episode quickly went viral as both idols reflected on their early journeys into the entertainment industry and the strong influence of their older sisters in shaping their paths.
Keonho revealed that he was cast at an incredibly young age, while still in the third grade. According to him, everything shifted during an ordinary day at a bus stop. A stranger approached him with a simple question, asking if he knew BTS. Initially, Keonho did not think much of it. That changed instantly when the person handed him a business card from Big Hit Entertainment. Howeverm his family’s reaction, especially that of his mother and older sister, was filled with excitement and disbelief. For Keonho, it marked a crossroads between continuing his swimming career or stepping into an entirely different world.
Keonho and Dynamite's impact
Keonho then explained that dance became his bridge into the new path as a future idol. His older sister, trained in ballet and broadcast dance, taught him his very first moves. The first song he learned was“Gangnam Style,”but it was BTS’ “Dynamite” that followed soon after, creating a subtle but meaningful connection to the group that would later inspire him. Laughing, Keonho joked that he might now be a better dancer than his sister.
BTS and CORTIS' sweet bond
This is not the first time CORTIS has openly expressed gratitude toward BTS. During a Weverse live last year, fans noticed the members bowing in front of a laptop while thanking Jungkook for mentioning their song “GO!” during his birthday live. The gesture won hearts across fandoms and showed the humility shared between seniors and juniors in the industry.
Martin has also spoken about BTS’ influence in an earlier
Rolling Stone interview, revealing that the group advised CORTIS to treat every team member, including staff, with respect and kindness to build long-term success.CORTIS, consisting of Martin, James, Juhoon, Sunghyun, and Keonho, continues to rise steadily.
